David A. Skalicky
Lieutenant Colonel Dave Skalicky was born in Billings, Montana and raised between Santa Clara California and Lander, Wyoming. He graduated High School from Lander Valley High School. He graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry, and holds a Master Degree in Business Administration from Touro University.
He met the former Sue Muriada in Flagstaff, AZ and the two were married in Scottsdale Arizona in May 1987. Dave and Sue live in Bismarck, North Dakota with their four daughters; Courtney age 16, Caity age 14, Breanne age 12 and Alexandra age 10.
He began his military career as a connoneer crewmen in the Wyoming Army National Guard in 1983. His enlisted positions included Driver/Radio Operator and Fire Direction Specialist. Attaining the rank of Private First Class, he entered ROTC and was commissioned in 1986 as a Second Lieutenant in the Arizona Army National Guard. Branched an engineer officer, he held positions of increasing responsibility from Platoon Leader, Executive Officer and Company Commander at the company level. S-1, Assistant S-3, and Headquarters Detachment Commander at the battalion level. S-1, S-3 and S-4 at the Brigade level, Battle Captain of a Divisional Rear Operations Center and as an Engineer Reconnaissance Officer at the Corps level. In addition to his operational assignments, he held the position of a Reserve Forces Officer for Selective Service and prior to his current assignment was the Task Force Engineer for Kosovo Force 5B.
He is a graduate of the Command and General Staff Officers Course.
His military awards include the Meritorious Service Medal with 1 OLC, The Army Commendation Medal with 2 OLCs, the Army Achievement Medal with 1 Silver OLC, and the Kosovo Campaign Medal. His state awards include the state commendation ribbon.
Currently LTC Skalicky is the Recruiting and Retention Battalion Commander for the state of North Dakota.
